Twitter Acquires Tweetdeck

TweetDeck, a pioneering dashboard to monitor what people say in real time, was officially acquired by Twitter. After one month of fundraising valuation relative to the acquisition, the people from TweetDeck decided to “join the herd” on Twitter.

“Twitter recognizes the value of our audience, and how our products are built to serve their needs: this is a different audience from the official Twitter-using services,” said Chief Executive Iain Dodsworth TweetDeck in an interview with AllThingsD. “So our product remains the same and we will continue to develop them, with of course a more coordinated approach, because we are all one company.”

It has been suggested that this acquisition will be the downfall of one of the most popular third-party Twitter clients do. However, Dodsworth, vowed to remain a standalone product and investment required under the supervision of Twitter to receive.
